SASSA Takes Services to Fernie Neighborhood

Tuesday, August 27, 2024

The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently browsing the Fernie 2 Community Hall in Mpuluzi to render providers into the community.

SASSA will likely be rendering services which include new social grant applications, change of payment method, consumer treatment enquiries, along with the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In a press release, the agency mentioned it is alarmed about the significant number of people counting on social grants for survival.
“The purpose in the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to the large amount of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“This is certainly as a result of lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there is no thoroughly functional office devoted to service the area every day. The provider place created for intervention experiences a higher influx of possible beneficiaries, which makes it tough for your office to attend to all people who go to a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise much more sources to enable the servicing of all clients and improve usage of Social sassa status Assistance services,” the agency said.
